The journey from birth to teenager, to adult leads us on various cross-paths of self-discovery. We are constantly predisposed to beliefs, values and feedback that will influence the way we behave. Extrinsic factors such as peer pressure, the media, fashion trends and acceptable behavior as seen through the eyes of others. People selectively interpret what they see on the basis of their interest, background, experience, and attitudes.

No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.” Isaiah 54:17

To believe in yourself, start by taking steps to accept yourself:

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

The use of positive affirmations becomes a powerful narrative to set us on a path of reformation. Always remember “you are in control” and “you choose”.

When we feel frustrated and within conflict, always remember to ask yourself: “is it in my control”, if the answer is no, let go of the frustration and anger that will shadow your sense of accomplishment. When we learn to “let go” we open the door to opportunities; to be able to think clearly and sensibly about the way forward.

Self-reflection:

In our busy world we very rarely have time to think about who we are, what we stand

for and where we are going…..

Take some time out today and start by thinking a little bit about the person you are.

List some of your strengths and growth areas, your qualities, emotions…..

What is important to you ……

“Who am I “
