Three main principles of Grace

·      Learn to let go

·      Lean into prayer

·      Looking for opportunities to practice grace

Grace ….. Logos explains it so nicely – it is to justify, transform, strengthen and to equip.

When things feel or look impossible, it is so easy for us to become vulnerable, and our emotions become the clutter in our mind that make it impossible to think straight.

I recall a personal journey where, through disease, my body being weak influenced not only my emotions but my mindset.

To apply grace, I had to focus intentionally to transform my mindset from weak and vulnerable to that of “I can”.

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

This scripture echoed through my mind; I made it visible by putting it inside my cupboard door where I choose what to wear for the day. Not only to dress in the sense of clothing ourselves, but also in the sense of dressing our mindset. Set for success rather than failure.

It is in the moments of our “impossible” , our struggles and feelings of despair that we are challenged to perseverance.

Perseverance is most certainly not developed when it is easy going – when everything is going well and our emotions are balanced in joy. It is when the scale is tipped to an emotional merry-go-round that we are challenged to understand the process of perseverance.

Perseverance when we look at the Collins dictionary, is described as the quality of continuing with something even though it is difficult. The ability to have persistence, tenacity, determination and dedication.

Steps to take to practice grace in the impossible:

·      Remember not everything is in your control

·      Learn to let go of the clutter

·      Identify what is your thorn – what is tormenting you

·      Practice the power and strength that overtake the feeling of being powerless and weak.

·      Change your focus - by focusing on others it takes the attention away from ourselves

Introspection and Action:

The choices we make between living in the impossible and transforming to grace and perseverance is simply that – a choice.
